Episode 319: Membership and Church Covenant for Church Plants

Membership and Church Covenant

In Episode 319 of the NewChurches Q&A Podcast, Daniel and Ed discuss when and how to introduce membership and a church covenant to your church plant. Here is today’s question:

We are planting a church in a small town in Wales that has the population of about 3000 people. There is no church in the area and people travel around 30 to 60 km (25 to 35 miles) to go to church. We have been meeting as a core group for six months and are launching our church plant in September.  We are thinking about introducing church membership and a church covenant. Do you have any advice, or resources you have used, to introduce church membership and a church covenant — especially to our core group — as we launch our church?

In This Episode, You’ll Discover:

  • When to introduce membership
  • Discussion around introducing membership to your launch team
  • When to enter into a covenant community together
