Church Planting During a Pandemic

By New Churches Team

Engaging During the Pandemic

When the Send Institute first started talking about the pandemic in late February, they initially wanted to get churches ahead. So, they did a series of webinars and invited European leaders to the discussion who had already been facing the pandemic. Those leaders shifted the conversations they were having as many U.S. church leaders began to take things more seriously. They then resourced church leaders in cohorts about leading through a crisis.

When it comes to future church planting, Send Institute halted all assessments, but they have moved their focus and increased training opportunities. They have emphasized how to help the church planter who is on the ground. They also saw a great opportunity for considering how to add de-centralized concepts to their curriculum and began the process of rewriting curriculum and update it based on lessons learned during this time.
